A friend from my school days, Claire Blay, has organised two balls in aid of two great charities, Brain Tumour UK and The Royal Marsden. The events are being held in September and October this year, one in Reigate, Surrey and the other in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. The concept is a great one: Wear that wonderful wedding dress again (gents, I guess we just get to dress up smartly!), have a fun evening out with food, music, a little light gambling, an auction and more. I’ll be going along to photograph the guests and, although we’re still working out the details, I’m sure it will be a lot of fun.
As Claire explains on the website, she has been motivated by her mother’s illness to organise the balls. As soon as I saw Claire writing about the idea for these balls on the ol’ Facebook, I wanted to help out. Claire’s parents were a significant part of my experience at secondary school, singing in the choir and travelling with the school on tour to Prague. (If you can imagine spending your holidays trying to herd a hundred hormonal 14-18 years olds and their instruments around a foreign country, you’ll see how generous they were with their time!) So, I’m pleased to be able to support the events.
Please take a look round the website at http://www.wearwhite4charity.co.uk/ and if you can provide something for the raffle or auction, please get in touch with me or Claire!Pin It
