Chris and Amber chose strong, vibrant colours which suited the lively atmosphere of their wedding. Chris and Amber were the first couple to get married in Winchester’s Basing Room. Whilst everyone waited, their daughter Adelaide dispelled any nerves as she chattered outside the room and made everyone laugh. With Adelaide on one arm, somehow Chris and Amber managed to exchange rings and vows. Amber had tears in her eyes the whole time.
The whole wedding party walked through Winchester city centre to the Prior’s Hall for the reception. The reaction of the public to a wedding party adds to the celebration of the marriage. The crowds outside the cathedral applauded as Chris and Amber made their way through the grounds. Photographing in public places is a challenge, with members of the public bringing an extra, uncontrollable variable. I prefer to incorporate passers-by in the photographs, rather than pretend that they were never there.
The day was rounded off with an afternoon tea. Chris and Amber’s family and friends had contributed a huge variety of cakes, and I was delighted to be given a large pile of them to take home with me!
