Louisa and Ben’s spring wedding at the Hotel du Vin in Poole was the definition of intimate.
With just a handful of family and close friends gathered around, it was clear that Louisa and Ben wanted to be close to the people that mean the most to them. The Hotel du Vin in Poole was the perfect venue for them to chose. Everyone gathered in the “Port” room, waiting for Louisa to arrive.
Louisa looked absolutely stunning in her dress, and Ben cut a cool contemporary figure in his suit. Having successfully tied the knot, Louisa threw her arms up and let out a yell of triumph, before giving Ben the more traditional kiss!
I’ve known Louisa for years and she’s always full of life, with a funny remark (or funny voice!) never far from her lips. Unusually, I hadn’t met Ben until the wedding day. His quieter, more reflective personality seemed to be the perfect complement to Louisa. As I was photographing them, it was clear just how happy they were to be married.
Luckily it was one of the few dry and warm days of the spring, so Louisa and Ben’s guests were able to enjoy the sun.
The room was swiftly turned around ready for everyone to enjoy a rather delicious meal. Hotel du Vin is known for its wine cellar, so some rather nice bottles accompanied the meal. There were some enticing cupcakes for later too.
Louisa and Ben’s guests were just as lively and fun to be around as they were. I could really feel the bonds of affection between everyone there, whether family or friends. Everyone was relaxed and the day sped by.
Having a small number of guests meant that Louisa and Ben actually got to talk to everyone properly, rather than hopping from one person to the next. Less is more!
As I left Louisa, Ben and their guests were having a great time and I am sure that it went on late into the night. It was a pleasure to spend time with such a nice group of people.
